Do you consider yourself lucky or unlucky?
How Luck Works
I knew someone that would always win dice games when we would play together. She said she just knew she was going to win, and she did. But finally, one time (I could barely believe it) she lost and that’s when the doubt began to creep in. After that, she assumed her luck was gone because her streak of good fortune had ended.
The truth is, our luck is in direct relation with how feel about ourselves. This is not about affirmations that we fill our heads with, while not believing a word. It is more about our deep-seated impression of ourselves right now. If we are playing the lottery with hope, but whispering to ourselves of how incompetent we felt at work today, we are sabotaging the outcome. Often, we are sending mixed messages and surprised at how chaotic our lives seem.
What are the whispers saying to you? Are they saying, “you never get your way?” Are they convincing you that “you are not enough?” Pay attention to the subtle dialogue going on in the background, you may be surprised at what you notice when you start to look for it.
Breathe in Self-Love
Every time, you feel overwhelmed, breathe in love for yourself. If you get frustrated with someone, breathe in self-love. You get the picture. You can start by finding as many things to appreciate about yourself first. This is an easy transition into a feeling of love. It is a new habit that can change your life very quickly. It is simple but takes practice.
Changing the Story
You may notice very quickly, being in a mood of "everything just works out for me now." That is the place to stay. This can be your new story... your new normal if you choose.
Good luck! (and hopefully soon enough, you won’t even need it!)
