Owls represent wisdom and foresight
This is What It Means if You See and Hear Owls Often.
The Native Americans believed these animals were keepers of sacred knowledge with wisdom and foresight. They were also a sign of death and rebirth, since they have a tendency to appear before a passing or the birth of a child. Sometimes they are even a warning to keep your eyes open because something negative is about to happen, but this is not meant to scare you. However, it’s always good to be aware of your surroundings and when an owl appears, you know it’s time to be more aware than usual.
As of late, I have noticed a family of owls which have appeared in my back yard. One of which flew over my head to let me know it was looking out for me. From my experience, there is much significance of an owl being present around you. They are very wise creatures that watch over the night by sitting in trees or flying silently above. They are able to manipulate their heads to turn completely around to see from all angles making them one of the “all seeing eyes” of the forest. When an owl shows up, it’s time to be silent and listen to what this animal is trying to tell you.
For example, I had an owl appear to me one night while I was leaving a restaurant. It was sitting right on the telephone pole in front of my car, just talking away (yes, I said talking!). I was with a friend and let him know to be careful on the way home because this is a warning when an owl is in plain sight. Sure enough, I got a phone call from a fellow co worker at the time who let me know to be careful in our parking lot from here on out. Someone had decided to try and rob employees on their way out of the building and starting shooting at their cars. Luckily, no one was injured! However, this owl paid me a visit just to let me know to be aware and careful. Honestly, it was a good thing I had the night off.
On a different night, I was leaving my apartment complex at the time and had an owl swoop to fly right in front of my windshield. It was huge!! Not even a mile up the road I had a car speed right past me. Not even a mile after that sat a police officer and sure enough the driver was pulled over. I give lots of thanks to the owl for giving me the heads up!!
So, when you happen to see an owl in plain sight, open your eyes and know that it is actually talking to you so you can have a better day! Namaste!

deltarain: I've had owls surrounding my home for several nights hooting and screeching back and forth while I was outside. Also had buzzards (a big flock) living and roosting over the creek by my house. Just seemed unusual and wondered if there was something for me to learn or watch out for... Thanks for this article.
