Limiting Beliefs

Don't let limiting beliefs hold you back from anything!
As I write this article for publication in August, it is during the 2nd Mercury Retrograde in Gemini (May 29th through June 22nd) in 2021. I don’t know about you, but this retrograde kicked my butt majorly. The energy was so intense and abrupt. It was like the universe throwing curveballs at me left and right. It was a great workout with ducking and dodging them.
However, I could not ignore what the universe wanted me to heal from my past, especially with LIMITING BRIEFS. This gave me an opportunity to drive in deeper and purge whatever real estate was in my life (basically, an expiration with certain people and things) that no longer served my higher purpose. With that said, I am finding moments of forgiving circumstances that happened from my past and making room for the right blessings to come in.
I am going to get very authentic about my own limiting beliefs, along with sharing a small story of something that happened to me during this retrograde, which made me look deeper into my soul. I am opening myself up to the real world to show how a psychic can have her own limiting beliefs and shift herself to heal into complete freedom of unconditional love, forgiveness, and peace. Talk about a work in progress!
My Story – Boy Do I Feel Red in the Face
Let’s switch gears to my story. In May, I got skin care advice from someone that was close to me. The advice ended up becoming a nightmare when I was recommended to use an over-the-counter product that had a high level of benzoyl peroxide. I was always known for having beautiful skin. Since the pandemic, women have been getting more skin rashes and acne from wearing face masks. A woman’s worst nightmare for her skin.
Unfortunately, after I used this product for a week, I realized that my towels were getting bleached (thought I had a laundry issue), along with my face becoming redder and with the worst break-out of acne that I ever had in my lifetime. For a woman in her 40s, this break-out ended up getting worse while around the retrograde which led to a serious skin infection that required to be put on major steroids and antibiotics. Later, I found out that I got a chemical burn that destroyed my skin barrier on my face. Bottom line, I looked like a swollen, strawberry patch and itched like having chicken pox again. It brought tears to my eyes.
Since this skin infection, I was brought to my knees with the emotional impact that it took on my self-confidence. Not kidding you, it opened old wounds from my past that I had not felt as a child in a long time. When I was about to go into 4th grade, I got the worst case of chicken pox and got very scarred from them. I was bullied heavenly in grade school, and the most painful reminder of my scars was when I associated them with certain abuses that I endured as a child.
Regaining Self-Confidence
As an adult, I learned to accept my imperfections on my face. It was not an easy process to come to a place of self-acceptance. From my childhood scars, I developed many limiting briefs on my self-confidence. As a teenager, I remembered always being concerned what others thought of me and would really try to cover up my scars with so much foundation. I explored the areas in my life to help boost my self-confidence, such as becoming a model and enjoying being in pageants. Throughout my 20s and 30s, I became obsessed over my skin care and getting skin procedures to smooth out my scars on my face, which later delivered promising results.
One thing was missing. As a woman, I had to learn to improve my limiting beliefs to heal from the inside and recognize my inner beauty. I WAS THIS BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT THAT NEED TO KNOW HER HIGHER SELF. It was about liberating myself to recognize that I had a path to better self-love, which was right before my eyes. It was up to me to respond and change my mindset to reflect what was needed to change from within. It was about my own accountability.
With my own story, it demonstrates my limiting briefs as a human. Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone has different paths. Everyone has different sets of limiting briefs and overcoming them. It can be healing from a relationship break-up/divorce, changing careers, rebuilding finances, surviving childhood abuses, recovering from substance abuses, nurturing broken spirituality, dealing with health concerns, grieving the loss of a loved one or improving judgment/trauma that affected self-worth. That is called adversities with comebacks.
How Do You Heal Your Limiting Beliefs?
Limiting beliefs are stored in the subconscious mind, while most people are not aware of them being there. Limiting briefs are programmed or socially conditioned during childhood, or they become deep rooted beliefs (some are repressed memories) from previous traumatic events in life. Good news is that you can do something about them. Here are just a few helpful suggestions.
Acknowledge Your Limiting Beliefs Are Not Truths
This is the hardest step. It is never easy to be real and raw with your inner self. Whatever the briefs are and how they developed at the beginning, they need to be looked at with compassion, understanding, and realization that you want to make a positive change to alter your mindset within yourself. You are the captain of your own journey. There are things that you can change based on your free will and choices, which is mentioned in my article, “The Gift of Free Will.” It is never too late.
Write Down Your Limiting Beliefs
Time to play detective and follow your thoughts and emotions to discover those limiting beliefs that hold you back. Put them on paper. Study and reflect on them. Please note how strong each belief is and how your emotions are connected to them. Sometimes, it is hard to recognize any limiting beliefs. But give yourself a chance to be present and mindful to understand and reveal patterns or behaviors that you did not realize were false beliefs.
Know Your Inner Strength, Stay Motivated, and Come into a Place of Self-Acceptance
When thoughts run through our minds, there are phrases that pop up as, “I am not good enough,” “I am not loved,” or “I will never heal or get passed my trauma,” etc. Instead of limiting yourself, you must come into a place of wanting to learn and how to move past those false beliefs. It takes courage to come out of denial. Nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself and have a clearer perspective on things. Plus, it gives you a chance to rewrite your life script with healthier and empowering beliefs that will help you heal and grow towards your higher self. Here’s an exercise, please check out my article “Embracing the Wonder Woman Within,” it has a great self-assessment to give guidance on improving your self-worth. And yes, men you can read this assessment too. Be open-minded!
Take Accountability
Since you have ideas of how to evaluate your limiting beliefs and get motivated to accept and change things, the next part is where it takes some time to work through those changes in altering them. Once you start your journey, you will never want to look back when you come in a place of more self-love. See, when you start to heal your limiting beliefs, you start to love yourself more and be empowered to have more balance in your existence and those around you in the world. Here is another deal, there are some awesome things that you can do to help alter your limiting beliefs. Please check out my article on those ideas “Healthier 2021 New Year’s Resolutions.” Think about it, taking accountability starts with you first to make a new change. You have nothing to lose!
Harnessing Your True Power
Lastly, there is a wonderful book called “A Little Book on BIG Freedom: Discover the Four Elements of Transformation,” by HeatherAsh Amara, which speaks on using the four elements of air, fire, water, and Earth to help harness your true power to make a radical personal transformation to break your limiting briefs and be liberated. Presently, I have been using this book as a useful tool to heal my limiting beliefs that are centered on my self-confidence, while healing my face from the chemical burn and skin infection back in May.
Believe me, it has been a work in progress, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Lots of life lessons here, which I say with a smile. And YES, as a psychic, I am still processing my emotions and reflecting on what I need to accept and change from within with the current situation. However, this only makes me stronger and wiser.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story. Blessings!
