It has been proven that a clear environment at home is beneficial to the psyche and a clear mind. So when you are sitting at home, watching TV, reading, or whatever it is you do. Take a second and look around at your environment. Start with this room because it’s the room you are in the most. What do you see? Is there clutter piled up everywhere? Is it unorganized? Are you able to find anything at anytime? Do you feel clean and clear and under control in this room? Yes I know it’s a commercial, but these are all questions you should ask yourself.
It’s all related to energy. If you have clutter everywhere and it’s unorganized, it’s hard to even contemplate where to begin cleaning. The energy can’t move freely through this space. The energy becomes stagnant and so do you. You are constantly worried about where to start. You could start in one spot, but this would be better. I can’t find anything. Your head is constantly racing over this issue whether you realize it or not. There is no room to breathe. It’s hard to focus at work, and at home you don’t want to do anything. You feel trapped, like you aren’t going anywhere. This is negative for anyone, and will not help you relax. So find that beginning point. Even if it is hard to figure out where to start, just pick a spot closest to you and start somewhere. Once you start clearing things out the energy will start flowing. From there you can sit back, relax and let the energy flow.
Even if it’s like this in only one room of the house that no one ever sees, you know it’s there, causing the same stagnant energy. My advice to you is, if you don’t use it and you haven’t seen it in a while, then it’s of no use to you. Throw it out! Then you have an open room and the possibilities are endless. It could be your new office or a guest bedroom for people to visit, meditation room, etc. Once clean, it is open to whatever you want and need in your environment.
Lastly, once you have everything clear and clean, I highly recommend burning white mountain sage throughout the house. Use a plate underneath to catch the ashes as you walk around corner to corner and window to window. Keep positive blessings and happy thoughts in mind as you do this. If burning sage is not for you I also recommend a spray bottle mixed with water, 2 tablespoons of sea salt, and 4 or 5 drops of peppermint essential oil. You can get this at most health food stores. It’s cheap and peppermint oil deters unwanted pests such as ants, roaches, spiders, etc from entering your home. I spray my apartment once a week and have yet to see any bugs. From there enjoy the clear environment, clear energy, and a clear mind! Breathe! Namaste!
