As the Arab saying goes, "The past is gone, the future only hoped for; and for you, beloved, is the moment in which you are!"
To have this Universe to gaze upon, to be granted this great gift of this ever-recurring instant of light, sense and consciousness; to bring us always back to the perfect shining moment in which we seem to exist.
It's like a default setting of joy that we can always access to see the morning light through the leaves, hear the sound of the wind, and smell the dusty streets of summer; to feel the sun on our skin and taste the ice cold water from the fridge.
And then to wander in our inner worlds to fantasize, remember and speculate... to sit and think of nothing but breathing... words can’t do justice to the gratitude of being in the here and now.
The Universe may take this moment-focused reality away some day and, as I believe, we’ll be entering a self-generated psychic reality (which we all share) beyond the confines of time and space, only to return to physical, moment-centered reality again someday!
I can accept death as the price we have to pay for eternal life. I honor that cosmic obligation to let it go; but I don’t think I could ever give it away!
"The past is gone, the future only hoped for; and for you, beloved, is the moment in which you are!"
