Flower Power - 8 Flowers for Healing and Enlightenment
Date 1/2/2020
Flower Therapy is the art and science of using flowers, and flower essences for healing, manifestation and abundance. By making a connection with flowers, your dreams really can come true, and you'll see that nature truly has the ability to heal stress, illness, and emotional blocks.
Below are eight commonly found flowers and how to use them for healing and enlightenment.
Rose: The queen of all flowers, roses have been living side by side with humans for thousands of years. Roses have the power to heal emotional wounds, open the heart chakra center, fill your aura with beauty and love to improve your relationships. Roses are said to be a gift from angels brought to earth so that humans could show love to each other so it’s no wonder they are the universal symbol of love. Different colored roses have different effects, red is for passion, pink is for love, white is for purity, and yellow is for happiness.
Lavender: Lavender is very soothing and calming, add a few drops of the pure essential oil to your bath at night to relax and wash the stress away before you sleep. Lavender when carried in your pocket is said to bring luck and a tranquil demeanor.
Primrose: Primrose is a gateway flower for fairies. Fairies use primrose as a portal to jump in and out of our world. If you have a special connection to fairies you will benefit from keeping a primrose in your garden.
St. John’s Wort: Still used today as a natural anti-depressant, St. John’s Wort is a pretty yellow flower with five petals. It’s very protective and inspires a positive mood and outlook when carried or taken as a tea.
Lilly: Lilies are not meant to be taken internally, but the essential oil and flower essence however are wonderful to use for beauty concerns. Lilly reminds us to love our bodies and give them the best possible care. Lilly is also great for people in relationships because it can reactivate desire between you and your partner.
Baby's Breath: This gorgeous flower is a traditional symbol for new birth and purity. Keeping some in a vase will instantly improve the energy of your home or office. Baby's Breath has a sweet powerful smell that makes us feel really lovely. It’s great to bring in after an argument or anytime something negative has happened since it has the power to remind us of what’s really important.
Sunflower: Sunflowers are big tall silly looking plants that symbolize abundance and harvest. If you are trying to attract more prosperity into your life you should plant or keep some sunflowers nearby. They bring that bright sunshine with them wherever they go, helping to activate your own solar plexus chakra so you can be motivated for success when you are feeling stuck due to setbacks.
Daisy: The lazy daisy makes us think of when we were young and plucking petals to find out if someone had a crush on us. Believe it or not daisies are thought to aid in divination, the art of using an object to mystically find an answer. Try it for yourself next time if you are feeling whimsical and need a quick answer. Remember to not keep picking daisies if you don't get the answer you are looking for, trust the flower to be truthful because they are always honest.
We hope the magic of flowers serves you well, all of these flowers except Lilly are completely edible so it’s safe to ingest them for the benefits. You can also make a "flower bag" from a little drawstring pouch and carry them with you for long lasting effects. Essential oils can be found at your local health foods store, but please be sure to follow the directions because all essential oils are different.
Another way to get some flower power is to pick them yourself and make your own bouquet. When picking your own flowers it is nice to thank the plant and acknowledge it as a living being for extra powerful effects.
