Money can be very stressful but there are little things you can do to help!

Money can be a great asset or a really big stress factor. Often, unexpected circumstances in our lives can ultimately end up costing us money which we may not have.  Saving can be a challenge, especially when fun things or items come up that we want to pursue. Whether you are unemployed, just lost a job or are just trying to make ends meet, there are ways you can cut corners that can also cut down on your stress. Here are a few simple tips to get you moving away from the financial stress and into a land of calm.

Avoid Impulse Shopping

It can be difficult to stay to the items on the grocery list, especially when you are shopping hungry! That can also be said about clothes, shoes, accessory shopping. When you’re feeling the urge to shop, make sure you have a goal in mind with a set list of items needed. Don’t veer from this, as that’s when the $$ add up!

Make Yourself a Budget

You don’t need to be a tax accountant to budget and manage your money. Make a list of your bills, averaging them out each month, then factor in how much you bring home. Decide what you want to do with what’s left. It may help to have a savings pile and a fun pile, so you don’t over-do it.

Use Your Leftovers

Whether you bring last night’s lasagna for lunch or add a fresh coat of paint to that coffee table, there is something to be said about leftovers. Using what you already have in a new way is a great way to stretch a dollar.
