I am a firm believer that we are all divine beings. And since we are all divine beings, does it not follow that we can shape our reality? As we prepare to enter December, our thoughts turn to visions of holiday meals, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. It is also the time of year most of us try to adopt a position of gratitude. Having an outlook of gratitude in every aspect of your life can change your perspective and your reality.
Here are a couple of suggestions to help transform your reality by merely being grateful.
Words Have Power
Do you find yourself saying the phrase “I have to” often? Try thinking in terms such as “I can” or “I get to” or “I am able to” instead of “I have to.” I know this may sound silly to many but, it works. In this country we have so much we often look at activities like cooking dinner, picking the children up from school and cleaning our home as drudgery. Pause for a moment and think to yourself, “I can cook dinner.” or “I get to pick up my kids from school.”
Words are powerful things and changing just one word can change the entire energy around any activity. When you change the words “have to“ to “get to” or “able to,” the energy changes from oppressive to joyous.
A Little Thanks…
Whether we like it or not, how others perceive us does affect our reality. We’ve all said “I’m sorry” for being late or not being able to attend an event. However, when is the last time you ever thanked someone for waiting for you when you were late or for inviting to that event you couldn’t attend. The words “thank you” go a long way to raise an individual’s opinion of you. When you apologize and then express gratitude, it shows that you appreciate and value that person and their idea of us. Being well thought of by others can manifest new opportunities in your career, love and social life.
Improve Your Energy
Never underestimate the power of gratitude. It can change the way you look at yourself and the way others see you. Gratitude can improve the energy around you and around those you love. When you open yourself to gratitude, you open yourself up to a world of possibilities.
