In my house around Halloween there is a great festive feeling.  We love doing up the house for the neighborhood kids and passing out candies to all the little goblins and fairy princesses.   We also enjoy telling “ghost stories” and other supernatural tales.  It just gets everyone into the mood of the day.   Here are two stories of the unexplained that I would like to share with you.

The Black Dress

This was related to me by a close friend and I always think of it around this time of year, Halloween.   My friend was full of stories and psychic energy and always had a tale or two to share. 

Emma Bean had a terrible nightmare.   It was vivid and painful.  She had dreamed that her favorite cousin, Eddie, had been killed.   The nightmare left her weak and crying.  It had seemed so real that she had to call her mother and make certain that Eddie was all right.  Her mother assured her that he was fine and she only had a nightmare.  Her fears alleviated, Emma forgot about the dream and continued on in her day.

Several days later, Emma awoke from a sound sleep, convinced she had heard Eddie whisper something in her ear.  Again, it left her frightened but she hardly wanted to call her mother again risking looking foolish. 

Later that same morning Emma suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to make a new dress for herself.  In itself, this was not unusual because she was an excellent seamstress and often made her own clothing.  She shopped for and bought several yards of a modest black fabric and when she returned home set to work on the creation of the dress.  Emma rarely wore black, in fact, she had not worn anything black for years.  She diligently worked on the dress, hour after hour, and did not stop until it was finished.  It felt almost like a compulsion, she just couldn’t relax until the last stitch was set in place.

The very next day, Emma’s mother called her and before she could even finish her sentence, Emma knew where she would be wearing that black dress.  Her cousin Eddie had been killed in an auto accident the day before – when she had awaken hearing his voice in her ear.  She long believed that he was saying “good-bye” to her.

For twenty five years I have been doing crossover readings for the public. I began having angel visitations when I was about 7 years old. They would talk to me in the woods where I played. I loved the woods. I always felt save there. I always knew they were around protecting me.  Was it angels or spirits???   Over my life I have had to learn how to discern the difference.

I do in fact believe there are good spirits and evil ones as well. Heck we can see that manifested in the human family on the physical plane. The old timers would say that one has a “mean streak” , the devil incarnate. Watch out for that one, they have a bad spirit. Leave her or him alone. Stay away from that one. You are asking for trouble. With time and maturity as humans we begin to learn to discern for ourselves whether someone is of good spirit or confused, or of bad spirit.

All things that happen on our physical dimension also happen on the other dimensions. Life is highly multi-dimensional. As we awaken to ourselves first, then to the world we begin to recognize the other dimensions or at least have glimpses into the other levels. It is a natural progressive process as we grow spiritually. It is part of our human spirit awakening.

When people call for a crossover reading. I first have to wade through their fear and hold them with a loving spirit as I help them travel to other dimensions. They are always happy to talk to the spirits of their passed families or friends. They are also a little scared. Our families love to talk with us. They enjoy letting us know they are there to love and help us. Sometimes they fuss with us. Or say things to get our attention if they feel we are heading the wrong way. They know that life is a mixture of predestined events and our free will choices. If they think we are goofing up or about too, they will tell us. Crossover readings are a great expression of love.

In order to believe in ghosts, we must first believe in the struggle between the dark and light. Again there are spirits who through free will choice stay in our dimension. Some stay because of quilt, shame or fear. They are afraid to face God. Others stay behind to help a love one. Others are selfish and refuse to give up their hold on the physical life. All of these possibilities exist in that dimension. Some are happy , sad, mad. Some are downright mean or demons. Always remember that God is stronger than Satan or any ghost. When frightened pray and rebuke them. God is the stronger force and always will be. Lucifer is just a confused fallen angel. I sometimes pray for his soul. What torment.

Many of us have had wonderful experiences and protection from the angels that God has given us to help us on our journey. All of us have had things happen that are beyond consequences. Angels are God helpers. All religions speak of them, have miraculous stories about what the angels have done throughout human history. They are alive and well today still helping us in our needs. They guide, protect, stir us ever so gently on our way. I love and am thankful for the angels. God and angels have saved my life more than once, after I have made a faulty choice on my road. They always direct us back to the high path, if we seek the high path.

So, it is our responsibility to take responsibility for our life choices, learn to discern the beings from this and the other dimensions. Listen to them. Watch look and listen. If we move along our life paths we learn what works and what does not work. Always remember that we are not alone on our journey. God has given us many helpers from the various dimensions to assist and make our life better. Flow with it. Learn your lessons as you go. Help another along the way, just as the angels, spirits and yes ghosts help us. We are in this together.

When people have lost a true love they feel abandonded, alone, and  forlorn. They ask their love “Why did you leave me?!”  “Why did you die!”  Memories of their lost love fill their days and haunt thier dreams leaving them with the sense of not being totally alive yet not totally dead. They are in essence “walking between the worlds”.       

The greif consumes them so much so that they seldom are able to consider that their loved one greives with them. Their loved misses them too. The age of Enlightenment has left our knowldege  of our afterlives bereft of our ancient wisdoms of death.  We have lost our death stories.                 

In almost every ancient culture I have studied (and my professional experience) on the subject, the dead do not “leave”. Their souls stay earth bound. This is widely known in Asia and among Shamans. It is THE reason that bodies were mummified and offerings were left at graves and tombs. It showed the ghosts of those who had died that the living still cared for and valued them. Remebrances for the dead can even be found in the Old Testament in the book of Macabees (a book that was edited out of the King James bible) Mel Gibson is even working on a movie about the Macabees.                     

What is it that we in modern western society have forgotten? That ghosts are people with out physical bodies. That they still love those who are alive and wish to help and aid their loved ones. They really don’t “go” anywhere most of the time. However just as when they were incarnate, they need to know know they are loved and appreciated. Just as any incarnate  person, if they are not needed or wanted  they will go to “sleep” and lose touch with the world. 

We can help those we love who have died by remebering them often.There are amany wyas we can do this. Keeping a plant in memory of them either in a pot or in our yards helps them  to stay anchored to the physical realm. Offering a toast to them on their birthday or some other special day.  Lighting candles at church or having masses said for them as the Catholics do. Making an altar for them as many  Buddists and Asians do. Telling their descandants true postive things about them. Even just talking to them telling them how we feel asking them for their aid will help them to be with us more stongly. We all want to be needed and know that we are loved, the same applies to ghosts.                          

The saddest thing is when we forget about them . The only thing worse is when we try to make them  “cross over” because what we are telling them in essence is that we do not want them to be a part of our lives. The majority of ancient cosmologies (Asia,parts of  Northern Europe,the Americas, Africa) believed that the dead usually did not leave us  to go another place. Instead they stay and help us. Peter Akroyd Dan Akroyd’s father has a wonderful book on this subject. The Akroyd’s have been spiritualists since the 1800′s and Ghost Busters was inspired by Dan Akroyd’s childhood experiences living with ghosts.

Many times in my professional mediumship  practice I have talked with people who have lost a true love. Yet their love was standing right next to them. I helped them to understand the nature of physical death more clearly and realize that their love didn’t leave them at all. This in essence ‘links” them once again to their lost love and they can again feel that love that has been missing from their lives.

It was October of 1965 and I was 5 years old. My Grandmother was our baby sitter every weekend. My father had a band so my parents were always out until 3 or 4 am. Once it got dark my grandmother and I would sit on sofa with all the lights out. She told me that there was nothing to fear of the dark. It was calm and cool in the room as we sat there, relaxed and comfortable. When we were ready, Grandmother would call the “spirits” and offer any help that might be needed.

The room would get very chilly as the atmosphere changed. You could feel a presence come into the room. This night was different however. We were visited by a spirit that was not at rest, which was not the usual. I sat very still, listening to this spirit communicate with my Grandmother. His name was Harold and he felt he was hopelessly lost. His image would appear as a wispy sort of cloud formation that sometimes took a very distinct male shape, he was tall and slender. He appeared to be an older gentleman and we could smell tobacco smoke in the air. He told us he had been killed and that no one had claimed his body. That he had been buried in a pauper’s grave with no head stone to identify him. This bothered him greatly.

I wasn’t afraid as my grandmother sat calmly listening. She told him that he had not been forgotten as he in spirit will always exist and that we were his friends and we loved him. She told him to find the soothing white light and to go there because there is where he will be with those who love him. But Harold did not want to go into the light; he didn’t want to leave his body here. He said there was something he needed from me. My Grandmother told me to put out my hand as I had done many times before into the dark. I felt his hand in mine and in that instant I knew everything he knew, all he had ever done or felt during his entire lifetime as a mortal on earth. I had put my hand out many times before for other spirits and felt there soothing energy but this one was different. At the time I was so young. I felt that my spirit took his information and kept it. I did not think of it again until October of 2006 over forty years later.

My grandmother put her arms around me that night as we put ourselves in the protection of the light, as always when ending communication with other spirits. It enveloped me as though I was being cradled by a fluffy white cloud, safe and comfy. I fell asleep that night feeling like a typical 5 year old, after our spiritual contact was done for the night. In

October of 2006, I was on my tread mill; it was early evening, so the room was dimly lit. I suddenly knew that there was someone else in the room with me. I turned to look to my side; my Grandmother was standing beside me. She had passed on several years before and had visited me on other occasions but never did she appear so “real” as she did this time. She looked exactly as she did when I was younger, she was right there beside me. I could smell her perfume in the room. I jumped off the tread mill so fast that I fell.

As I looked up at her from the floor, she very calmly told me, that Harold was coming…. I would be ill, she said, but not to be afraid because she would be with me to protect me. 2 days later in the mail I received a letter from an old friend from back when I was 13 years old. He was in prison for killing a man his letter read, so he has a life sentence. He wanted me to write to him as he was lonely and claimed he had not been the one to kill the man.

That night as I was relaxing on the couch, almost asleep, I heard a man’s voice directly by my ear shout “Lisa!” It scared me to death. There was no one in the room but me and yet, the voice had come from directly beside me. I sat up and looked around the room. It became cooler instantly and there was, Harold, in my living room looking exactly as he did when I saw his spirit 40 years ago. He said he was the man that my old friend had killed. He wanted me to help him. Everything I had felt before when I was 5 years old and had taken Harold’s hand in mine returned, but this time, I could also feel it. I saw and felt everything that Harold had. I saw what he saw as he lay dying looking into the eyes of my old friend who had beaten him so severely. My head hurt terribly my throat felt like it was closed and I couldn’t breathe. The pain was so severe at first but then it faded with the image of the eyes of his killer being the last thing he saw before leaving his body.

I knew exactly what had happened to him, exactly how he felt, first the fear, then the pain and then the wonder… the feeling of not belonging, a loneliness so powerful that it hurt. Harold had been killed viciously by a boy that had just turned to a man of 18; my old friend from the past that I had not seen or heard from since we were 13. Harold’s body had been buried in an unmarked grave, as no family had claimed his poor damaged body. There was no marker to gaze at with his name upon it on his grave. He told me that he would forgive his killer if he would only put a marker upon his final resting place and that he wanted me to tell him this.

I wrote to my “x” old friend and told him that I knew what he had done and that the man whose life he had taken so viscously in the past was willing to forgive him if only he would have his grave marked with his name. He wrote back quickly, astonished that I knew exactly what he had done that night to Harold as there was no one else there but the 2 of them at the time and he had religiously, with the hope of possibly gaining his freedom from prison, upheld his claim of innocence. In the letter he admitted his guilt, he wrote that he was haunted every night with the visions of what he had done and he had prayed for relief. Harold was willing to forgive for so little and yet…. his killer did not do as he had been asked.

Two weeks past again while relaxing on the couch I was visited by the demons that would follow Harold’s killer eternally. They appeared as small gargoyle like creatures, ugly and cold. Their presence was so frightening that I went into seizures that night and was taken to the hospital. The next morning in the hospital room my Grandmother was there sitting as I woke. “You have done all you can now for Harold, you must rest” she said quietly. I fell back asleep that morning with my Grandmother beside me and left the hospital later that day.

My old, now not a friend, is still in prison, the ugly creatures surrounding him every night. Reminding him always of that night when he so wrongly took a life. He is unwilling to forget it, it is his own guilt that haunts him now and he has yet to mark the grave of his victim. Why this man is not willing to do such a small thing for relief from his haunting madness? I do not know. Harold however now peacefully exists in spirit, head stone or not. He has gone on to the white light where he is greatly loved and appreciated. “Love all that you can with all that you have for it is love that lasts eternally,” says Grandmother. In memory of My Grandmother this story is not to be repeated without my name and hers upon it.

How did you know you had your gift?

I was doing some psychic reading at a fair and someone asked me to connect with a family member. I reached and found myself talking with her father. I got a couple of names, and they were siblings who had passed. It really is the same process but a different energy, a purer energy.

How do you help your callers?

It really gives people soothing and easing of the whole thing. I find that it is helpful because when people are facing challenges on this side, it let’s them know they’re not doing it alone. It’s very comforting.

What are the most common calls you receive?
The one that I seem to get a lot if someone who has lost recently. They want to know that they are connected and that they haven’t left their lives permanently. They want to know that they’re still not suffering. Once you cross over, there is no pain.

What is one of the more interesting experiences you have had?
I sat with a girlfriend who was dying of brain cancer, then one morning at a quarter to five, something woke me up. I knew it was her. I received a phone call at 8:30 that at a quarter to five she went into a coma. For me it confirmed the whole psychic thing is so powerful and it stayed with me.

After my dad died, he came to me in a dream and looked his best – 43 instead of 82. When we pass we revert to our best age.  My family was in Montreal and I was in Pennsylvania. He said he would be spending time with my sisters because they were far away. He was just telling me he needed to get close to them. It showed me that we really are connected to people who have passed. They’ll come in dreams and whichever way they can come.

What advice do you have for someone who is considering having a session with a medium?

I always work best when people have questions for me. The more specific the questions, the more specific the answers. It helps us get to what they’re really wanting to hear from them as soon as possible instead of going on a fishing expedition.

Holidays tend to be the hardest time after someone we have loved has passed on.  This hits hardest when we have lost a spouse or child.  There are so many fond memories.  This happens because holidays are normally a time of gathering together, and remembering how life has changed from years gone by.  So for someone that has lost a spouse there are many many memories there.

It is easy to find that emotions that you thought were well under control, surface and tears can easily start to roll.  I know this was the case when I lost my father.  It has been almost 4 years now; but the first Christmas was so hard.  Not only was there all the normal memories; but he was born on Christmas Day, so in some ways double the memories.  The thought that I have found important to keep in mind after the passing of a loved one is that the memories and pain of losing someone you have loved never really go away (and we wouldn’t truly want them to), but things do get easier with time.

So if you are missing someone this year – take the time to look around you and also see the joys that are before you, be with others AND respect the time that you need for your self to do any processing or reflecting of the feelings and memories that are surfacing. For those that are not missing someone, be compassionate with those that are – extend a shoulder or a kind gesture; it could make a bigger difference than you imagine.

Sometimes working as a psychic I see that it is not always my role to be psychic; but to simply just listen to what people need to say.  To lend a compassionate ear, an open heart, and some simple support.  It is a holiday recipe that often helps others to have a very Happy New Year.

I have had spirit visits all my life. The angels began coming around me when I was about 10 years old. During the Halloween time the spirits are closest to earth as the veil between this world and theirs is most thin. There are all kinds of spirits……….

There are the big winged angels that move around the earth to protect us. They are under the archangel Michael, the great protector. We have the angels for healing under Archangel Raphael. Archangel Urial is given to us advice for finances and business. The angels are always here and there ready to help us when we ask or when we most need help.

We are all assigned guardian angels at our conception. They are here to help us and quide us as we fullfill our life missions and growth lessons. Many souls are afraid to ask for help.Do not be afraid, they are ambassadors between God and us.

We cannot forget the sacred saints such as St John or Saint Theresa. These are great spirits that had so much love for humanity they were given sainthoood. They too are there to aid us in our journeys. Prays and novenas through them are alsways a comfort and a help with our human delimas.

Family members and love ones who have “gone on” are there to assist us as well.   They clap and sing and laugh at our weddings. They cry at our funerals and help us to the other side. They sing as our children are born. They watch us and enjoy watching their grand children. If we are about to stub our foot they somehow always let us know. I have had them knock down books. My car has broken so I would cross path with a certain soul. I have felt them push me the other way as I was going wrong. I have heard them whisper. I have smelled their perfume. Their forms of commuication have always intrigued me. Yes they are quite real and here and aorund at most times.

The spirit of our animals are around. They walk around with us. They lay on our beds and chairs waiting for us to get home. They dance and prance around us as they did when they were living. They gave us comfort in life and death. If you watch closely you will see them flash by. You can smell them. You will know them.

So dear ones, be of good cheer it is the Halloween time of the year. Our family and friends from this side and that are here and dear.  Happy Halloween

Fall seems to be a popular time for all spirits earthbound or otherwise to make contact with us. It was 10 years ago in October when I was asked to do my first house cleansing and rid a home of earthbound spirits. During the cleansing and crossing over it became clear to me that one of the spirits that was there to cross over was an Indian who was my brother in law in another life time. He had been there for all those years waiting for his tribe to come back after a war. He was accompanied with a little girl who was waiting for her family to return. There was also a previous home owner in the attic who was more of a controlling entity and did not want to move on. He simply wanted the home owners to leave. He was annoyed that they said they were going to move and didn’t. He headed into the light but I’m not sure if he went all of the way through it. He may have come back but he did leave the home owners alone after that. Maybe the light changed something with in him.

A few years later I moved into my new home. I was drawn to this home. I drove by it 3x a day for 6 months before purchasing it. A few months after we moved in we started having things move, turn on and off by themselves and I began seeing many spirits. I saw children, adults, and old wise man, spirits from the 20′s, a woman who was murdered that was naked and bloody, a woman who was strangled in the 80′s, and even gangsters. There were spirits being drawn to me from all eras and walks of life. There must have been about 50 or more that came to me the first fall that I was in my new home.Â

After seeing the spirit of a small boy I did some historical research and found out that the land behind us had belonged to Al Capone. I began searching Capone web sites. Suddenly, there he was the face of the small boy that had come to me and also the face of another man that I had seen in my home. I believe the small boy was Sonny Capone, Al’s son. The other man was a gang member of Capone’s.

It was all very unsettling at the time. I remember being over whelmed by what I was seeing. It was very hard to sleep at night with them coming up and looking at me and showing me images and visions of their lives and deaths. I began to draw pictures of everyone of them that I had seen and began researching what I had saw. I was able to find information on almost all of them.

A few months later, a friend of mines son committed suicide. I began to see him regularly. He had total darkness in his eyes. When you take your own life you have to start all over to reclaim the light of your soul. He communicated to me that his job now was to bring people to the light. He leads souls to me to cross over and is earning his light back and he is moving up in his levels by doing this.

After the fear subsided I crossed over hundreds of spirits that month. More kept coming. It took a bit for me to realize it but they were not stuck on my property but simply drawn and led to my light. The woods behind us had been used for years for negative rituals and apparently my land was a sacred ritual place to the Native Americans. My positive energy here had re-awakened the positivity for the Native Americans. The spirits I saw had come to me because I could see them and I could help. Although the images where quite unsettling I started to realize that they were not trying to scare me. They needed my help because they were lost.

Since then, I’ve been crossing over spirits once a month. I’ve been doing this for about 8 years. My positive presence here has strengthened the spiritual pull. Now I can feel once a month when there are too many here. I show them how to get to the light and can immediately feel the difference in the energy when they move on. Â

I’ve accepted that this will always be part of my service to the light. I’m now comfortable with it and proud to help our creator in this way. My point is that even after death it is not too late to accept the light of God and go to him for healing, peace, love and mercy. It is just better and easier to do it NOW. You know how hard it is to ask for help when you’re alive. Can you imagine what it is like trying to get help or communicate when you have already passed and you’re invisible? It has to be difficult even to get psychics and mediums to help. There are many different reasons why people stay behind. Some don’t know they’ve even passed, some are waiting for justice, some are waiting for family or closure, some come back to the last place and/or age that they felt happiness, and some simply just don’t want to leave. Whatever the reason may be. There is nothing stronger than God’s light and love to guide, protect and heal. It is best to connect with your souls light and creator while you’re here on earth. So that you know how to get home when you pass on. It is also best to pass over with no unsettled issues to keep you hear. Practice forgiveness in the hear and now.

I’ve also been visited by many spirits who have crossed over and gone right into the light. They come back healed, happy and peaceful with messages of love, hope and peace.

Even in death we all have jobs to do. Have compassion for the lost and pray for them. They are mostly just misunderstood.

One of my many experiences of learning to assist with people that have died and not crossed yet (known as gost or earth bound spirits), came from when I worked in a salon and spa.

Many years ago, I worked in the salon and spa business. I was a manicurist. I did the maintance for clients hands, nails and feet. One day the sad news of one of my regular clients Mandy, a young 24 year old, single mom, had been in a horrible car wreck the previous evening. There had been a heavy rain storm. One of  Mandy’s friends was driving Mandy home from an evening out shopping. There was large debre in the road from the storm which forced them off the road and down a cliff.  The two girlfriends died in the car wreck.

Carol, one of my co-workers at the spa had Mandy as a client too, she was Mandy’s hair stylist. Carol asked me to go to the mortuary with her to fix Mandy’s nails for the veiwing and funernal. Carol did this work on a regular basis for the mortuaries.

Mandy was a pleasure as a client. Everyone in the spa enjoyed her.  We all shared laughs, stories and had much fun with Mandy. We got to know her son Matt as he always came to the spa with his mom for her hair and nail appointments. Everyone had fun with little Matt.  He was four years old and a joy to have around.

This was a first for me, to assist in getting someone ready for family and friends to see, for the last time, in a coffin.
As my co-worker Carol was fixing Mandy’s once, long bouncy blonde hair I couldn’t help the flowing of the water from my eyes.  I tried to fix and polish Mandy’s mangled nails.  Talking with Mandy, I apologized for not having all the tools I needed to give her the long and beautiful violet nails she was always so proud of.

Then as I felt someone watching us from the side of the room, I  heard Mandy’s voice asking what was going on?  I had communed with earth bound spirits before yet this was so raw, close up and personal.  Mandy wasn’t completely aware of her being dead. She wanted to know why, I wasn’t making her nails really long like she perferred them.

I had heard of stories like this yet had not experienced it at this level till now.  I explained to Mandy the happenings of her death what had transpired and the wonderful home she now gets go to.  Assisting Mandy with the knowing of a family member that was there to help her to cross over to the other side and be home… we prayed together Carol, Mandy and I, assisting each other in what ever ways we could.

Mandy sat on my bed that night to commune with me before she went with her family member that had come to assist her on her journey home. This experience with Mandy was even stronger than at the mortuary that morning.  Amazingly I could feel her, hear her and see her, just as clear as I could see myself in a mirror. Mandy wanted to share some things with me which would help her to be at ease to be free to go home. This release of emotions and concerns was mostly of her son, Matt.

Mandy does visit from time to time. She assist me in assisting others on both sides that have children left behind.  I do give Mandy thanks and gratitude as she assisted me to step out to use my gifts and talents with clients and customers and to be stronger in, seeing which is clairvoyant, in hearing which is clairaudiant and feeling which is clairsentant.  This enables me to assist you more clearly with discernment and clearity with messages from loved ones crossed. Mandy assisted and still assist me to be comfortable in me, to be all I can be in this realm for both you and me.  I very much enjoy and feel  blessed to assist loved ones on both sides of life to be in peace, in body, mind and soul.
