Was there someone in your life who nurtured your gift?

Is there a soul mate for you?

What’s in a Dream?
Dreams are a communication of mind, body and spirit. I encourage everyone to keep a gratitude journal. Sometimes this can be hard to do, for always we will have challenges and opportunities to grow. This is why it is called “life,” and not “perfection!” My own journal has entries in it like: “I’m thankful my roof is leaking, because it affirms that I have a home to call my own, which is more than many people have!”

There is a wonderful Eastern proverb that says, “It is possible to appreciate the beauty of the tiger even as he crouches to devour us.” What this means to me is that there is beauty in everything, if we but have eyes to see it. Sometimes it is hard to see the beauty, or the purpose, when our hearts are aching and we are in such pain. I stood quietly aside and noticed a shelf of candy I didn’t normally have time to peruse, and even though I’d already purchased my treat of wine gums, my eyes scanned all the yummy sugar until they became transfixed by what is called a chocolate broom. It’s marshmallow that is covered in chocolate on a stick. I could feel myself salivating and then in an instant my mind spoke to me and reminded me, “You don’t eat chocolate Cory.” It was even kind of stern not playful at all and with that, my attention was drawn up to the manager who was ready to offer me my winnings. I thanked him kindly and joyfully walked off with my bags.

I arrived home in good time (living close to the handy store) and was placing away my groceries when to my utter shock and amazement, I noticed my wine gums right beside guess what else?  Now if you’ve been following along, you don’t need to be psychic for this part. It’s probably quite obvious that indeed that very same chocolate broom that I had not even seen before and had only just chosen in my mind, had manifested in my grocery bag and not only there, but right next to my other treat.

I immediately ran to my bill to see if I had somehow picked it up to buy it, or gone into a some altered state and forgotten and no, no, no, I checked three times; there was nothing on my bill. I sat for many moments shocked by how my mind had created this experience for me. It was thrilling and not out of my realm of understanding at all.

I understood that if I was open in recognition of and respectful of the power of the unconscious mind, I could manifest absolutely anything.  Even so, it challenged my logic, as I’d never to my recollection moved anything with my mind before. It was such a cool trick and treat. I reasoned that this was the ultimate message for me that resounded with this thunderous clap of clarity in such a fine expression.�

Whatever the case, it was so fun (and apparently my inner child isn’t too thrilled with not having chocolate for ten years now.)  At this juncture, I’m still in wonderment of it all and am having a deeper conversation within to decide if a magical broom will become my delicious treat. Maybe Halloween is the perfect day to eat one.

As of this moment it’s residing in my freezer as proof to myself that anything is possible, if only I believe in the power of Alchemy to transform my view of life. Oh and I do.  It’s just that little shift of perception that occurs when all of a sudden life isn’t what you thought it was. Don’t you just love Alchemy?

My brother Ronnie, who never had any more than the flu growing up, died of lung cancer at the age of 34, going very fast. I knew something wasn’t right when I would be walking in front of him, as he would always be walking so fast that I would have to call to him to slow down. He also looked like he was sick; I said to my mother, ‘he looks like death warmed over.’

The Signs…
One night, I had a dream of a ruined city and people with no faces, which means that someone close to you in the immediate family is going to die soon. Also, a year before, he had broken my full length mirror, bringing it up the stairs when he was helping me move. (In superstition terms, this means death.) The last movie we went to see before he died was called “Life After Death,” which was about spirits roaming around after the soul leaves their body.

About a month before he died, I went to over his house and he was building a cabinet for clothes. I said, ‘Oh my God it looks like a coffin!’ He yelled at me and said ‘it’s not a coffin, it’s a cabinet!’

Two days before he died, I was going to meet him over my mom’s. I had the worst headache I could ever remember having. I took something, laid down for a nap, fell asleep and didn’t wake up until it was too late to go. When I called my mother, she told me that it was a good thing I wasn’t there; he fell getting up from the chair and she had called the paramedics.

The Discovery…
He died two days later at 4:00 a.m. At the funeral, I could hear him call my name. After the funeral my other brother Garry and I went to his house, where we couldn’t open the combination lock on the upstairs door, where my brother had kept his artwork. I told Gary to try hitting the lock with a hammer…one hit opened the lock. We were totally in shock, got so scared and ran out of there so fast!!!

When Ronnie died, I took the cabinet he had built and placed it in my bedroom on the side of my bed. After everyone left the funeral they came over to my house. I noticed the cabinet was dusty and looked like it needed a polish, so I sprayed it with polish and it left a circle and started banging from the inside of the cabinet. I knew my brother to be finicky about fingerprints and people touching his stuff…but even after death!!! I screamed to everyone downstairs who also said they heard it, I said “I’m sorry, Ronnie won’t do that again!!!”

Three days later (3 being my brother’s favorite number), I was woken up by the cabinet banging at 4:00 a.m.; the time he had died. I immediately called my mother and had her listen through the phone! It happened one more time which added to three, but never again. But because it was so bad and so late at night the neighbors next-door thought I was doing it intentionally and started banging on the walls at night to wake me up. I

The last time something happened, was when I was waiting for the bus to take me to the graveyard to place flowers on his grave. It had been raining and while I waited, my brother’s best friend, who didn’t come to the funeral saw me while driving his car pulled over.

“Where are you going; do you need a ride?”

“I’m going to Ronnie’s grave to put flowers on it”

“Hop in and I’ll give you a ride there and back. I’ll go with you to the grave site.”

Just as I placed the flowers on the grave the sun broke through the clouds, and it was as bright and beautiful as could be.

Also, I added his insurance numbers together to see if it would add up to 34 and it did add up to the age he was when he died.

Never again after that did anything ever happen to spook me. I guess he moved on or thought that was enough for me…
