Communication goes out the window, appointments are messed up, there are cancellations and postponements, computer equipment crashes (I own a lovely paperweight that used to be my laptop), projects demand more time, checks get lost, you find the car you just purchased during a Mercury retrograde is a lemon, that contract you signed was not at all what you thought it was – and the list goes on!

And when it comes to matters of the heart, if your boyfriend or girlfriend says something extremely hurtful or that they want to call it quits, take a breather and wait. Since Mercury rules all communication and speech, they may not mean what you think they are saying. Give them room, and wait to see if they really mean in early September, what they said during the retrograde. Also, don’t be surprised when someone from the past just happens to show up out of the blue at the worst possible moment!

And even though it is a big “no-no” to buy those big ticket items and/or sign any contracts or legal documents during a Mercury retrograde, it is a great time to do all your research and due diligence – before making your purchases and/or signing your John Hancock on that dotted line. In addition, it’s also a good time to get catch up on all of you old paperwork and even back taxes!
