About: Hello – I am Maxine a psychic and writer. My passion for the spiritual arts and writing serve me well in this venue. Writing has always been an intriguing aspect of my life, the Internet gave me a new and exciting way in which to communicate with others all over the world. In 2001 I founded e-groups, “Sangha for Independents” also “Buddhist Inmate Sangha” (sangha means community) these groups provide a community for those who practice independently. We support the practice by sending books and writing letters to prisoners who wish to know about Buddhism or are Buddhist and have no one to share the practice with. Writing to others about life experiences is a joy bringing me closer to my spiritual center. Business and the arts took center stage in my younger life. My father being the founder of Snapple gave me strong roots in the business world. I became a make-up artist and hairstylist with a career spanning twenty years both in New York and California. This gave me a great education in that i got to talk to many different people everyday in-depth reinforcing my psychic knowledge base. I lived on both coasts and for seventeen years shared ownership of a kennel allowing me to make deep connections with animals. Much to my disappointment I have been fast forwarding through many of the performances both on the mega hit TV shows, Dancing With the Stars and American Idol.

It seems that the very beginning of the shows, where the funny stuff happens, has become one of the better parts. Once in a while some really good dance or song will come out of the evening and I just thank goodness for DVR’s- or all I would watch would be the cable stations where the entertainment and the actors are top of the line (have you seen the Tudors?)

Well I guess I am expecting a lot out of realty TV – I am also a big Survivor fan and have been really enjoying this season of Hero’s verses Villains – it is one tribe now and another season shot in Samoa which is so beautiful. Then, I cannot help it, I watch Celebrity Apprentice where I always fall asleep but finish watching sooner or later. It is a brutal (you’re fired) show where lots of money is raised for good causes near and dear to the celebrity’s hearts… I think Sharon Osborn or Brett Michaels should win; I hated to see Cyndi Lauper go she is such an icon and really brought true colors to life.

Back to DWTS – another football person (Chad) is dancing and he is going home next week I hope… cute does not cut dancing skills and he is tall but not that tall – 6’2” is a nice stature for a man, but he lacks danceability, my new word (actually it is two words that I combined to make one word), the pussycat doll is a shoe in, no pun intended, but the girl can dance. The ice skater is good but not as good as the pussycat doll. The field is narrowed down and watching bad dancing is no fun and some of the dancing stars made comments that the pussycat doll is a professional dancer and it is not fair… hey have you ever tried ballroom dancing? Years of doing trendy pop-culture dancing is not a ballroom foundation. So my money is on the pussycat doll…but more than likely somehow another sport guy will win!!! Just makes me wonder who is voting for him? Do guys sit around and watch DWTS in-between games on TV?

American Idol…when I first saw this season’s top 20 I picked Crystal – she is just good. Lee is okay – the other two, I fast forwarded because I would fall asleep otherwise.

Survivor is another story and I don’t think Russell will win but I have no idea who will. It is a rough 39 days – the fun part is how Russell finds the immunity idols with or without clues and the last time he was worried he would be voted off so he played it and not one person voted him off… what a waste of an idol.

As this reality season of shows comes to an end the next ones take their place in the wings – So You Think You Can Dance – and one of my favorites – Americas Got Talent, with new judge Howie Mandel – who is to AGT what Ellen is to American Idol.
