St Valentine’s Day is the day revered for loves, and it is approaching fast! But what if there is no ‘special someone’ in your life? What can you do to hedge your bets, and ensure that love does not elude you?

Suppose you fancy someone, and want them to fall in love with you, yet they don’t seem to notice how you feel. What would happen if you put a spell on that person to make them fall for you; have you ever thought of the repercussions of that? How would you feel if you ‘made’ them love you, rather than them loving you of their own free will? Would you even want them any more, once their free will had been compromised?

Even if you could live with the morality of casting such a spell, consider this: if they fell for you because of a spell, what would stop someone else casting another spell, and turning this person’s attention away from you? Would you keep casting bigger and better spells in order to control the object of your desires? What if they fell hopelessly in love with you, but you fell out of love with them? Would you have to keep casting spells to undo what you’d done?

Love Magic is complicated!

But there is a very easy spell which you can do to bring love into your life that has no negative energy, no bad karma, and it does not interfere with anyone’s free will. It is what I jokingly call a ‘makeover spell.’ This is a spell we cast on ourselves. It works on beautifying our personality, and letting that beauty shine through our physical appearance. If we do not love ourselves, how can we expect anyone else to love us? If we do not enjoy our own company, how can we expect anyone else to enjoy spending time with us?

This spell works with the planet Venus, the planet that rules beauty, attraction, and balance. Do this spell when the Moon is passing through the Zodiac signs of Libra or Taurus, preferably when the Moon is waxing, or growing towards fullness. Do not do this spell when the planet Venus is moving retrograde; the advisors here at Psychic Source can tell you when the most favorable time for this is.

While you are waiting for the appropriate time, watch people — either in real life or on the television — whom you admire. Ask yourself why you admire them, what qualities they have that you would like to have, how it might feel to have those qualities. Find a picture of them, and study it. What is it about that photograph that exemplifies beauty?

Now take a blank index card, and cover up half of the face on the photograph. Look at the expression, and try to guess what that person might be thinking or feeling. Study first one half, then cover up the other half and study it. Notice anything interesting? One side of our face will give a totally different impression than the other! Do this with several photographs; it will prove to you that real beauty truly is an ‘inner’ thing!

When the time for your spell has arrived…
Light a white (for purity) candle. Next to the candle, place a small hand held mirror. Take a deep breath, quiet your mind, open your heart, and say the following words:

“I call upon the spirit of Venus to hear my call and come to me.”

Stare into the candle flame, and imagine that the glow from the candle is the spirit of Venus, illuminating who you are. Every breath you take strengthens that illumination. Every breath is awakening your inner beauty.

Pick up the mirror and look into it. You are being transformed by beauty. It is within you. It is around you. It becomes you, and you become it. Keep looking into the mirror until you know that this transformation has taken place, then slowly place the mirror next to the candle, and say:

 “Venus is now within me, and always will be.”

That’s it! Extinguish the candle, grab a light snack, and know that from this day forward you are walking in authentic empowerment. Who could fail to be attracted to you now?

The most powerful lesson I was taught when learning from my Elders applies to love, and pretty much any other situation in our lives. “To know more, be more.”
