Thanks to a Mentor
Psychic Maxine gives Tribute

28th November, 2009 - Posted by Maxine x7791

Below is a letter I wrote – in gratitude -as I read the blogs I was inspired to look up an old mentor. I felt him, and oddly enough he passed away this year. So I wrote this letter. I did get an email back which is included… below is a picture of Dr. George Michael.

Hello,
My name is –Maxine and I am emailing you today to offer gratitude to the Dr. George Michael empire…

In the mid-sixties I was 16 years old and going through teenage anxiety. I had a father that always had brilliant ideas, one of which was selling a cosmetic and skin care line. George Michael allowed my father to have a representative in the salon to sell those products. My deep desire and thirst for knowledge in the fashion and art realm was well worth pursuing, so my father allowed me to be the rep for the cosmetic line and I got to spend Saturday at the salon. The kindness of the operators (Mickey) was of great compassion and I was allowed to watch and absorb all I could. I even got a chance to sit in Georges chair, be spun around and told not to cut bangs… being it was in the sixties the hair dos where up and fancy; I had the good fortune of being able to get my hair done by two of the stylists more than a few times.

I had the opportunity to show George my portfolio which was not very good, yet he, with true interest, looked at my artwork. Just being in the salon was better than the year I spent in beauty school… I did get my license in both New York and California and had a wonderful career specializing in long hair styling, cutting, perms and make-up.

During those years I was able to enhance my other work of reading tarot and being clairvoyant.
Today I was thinking about gratitude and I thought to do a search for George Michael and there you were.
I want to thank everyone at the salon that allowed me the opportunity to watch, get my hair done, and be so inspired by this greatness.
With much gratitude I wish you all the best of holidays and a Happy New Year.

Dear Maxine:
Thank you so very much for those inspired and heartfelt words. I too, followed my dreams of working with beautiful, long hair and I’m happy to see that you followed yours. I do not know if you have heard the sad news, but George Michael passed away not too long ago. We had a tribute to him at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and then a brunch at the salon. It truly is a blessing to keep the Madora George Michael Salon going. It’s been over 50 years and we’re still located on Madison Avenue. I too, wish you the very best of the holiday season and hope 2010 brings you much happiness, love & good health.

Thank you again for such a heartwarming letter. Peace be with you.

Sincerely,

Maria
