I do something similar, but I envelope myself in a bubble of rose quartz. I was taught that rose quartz is the ‘love’ stone; not the ‘I love you, do you love me, how much do you love me, will you always love me’ sort of love that binds us to the Earth plane, but the divine and unconditional love that is showered freely down upon us, asking nothing in return.

I chose rose quartz for 2 reasons. The first, quartz is a hard impenetrable stone. The second, my daddy always told me I could catch more flies with honey than I could with vinegar!

People that are out to drain us, to wish negative energy towards us, who want to rob us of our authentic empowerment usually can’t stand to be around people who are happy and positive and upbeat all the time. My friend uses what she calls a ‘taffy shield.’ She envisions a web of sticky candy strings that coat every thing and everyone that touches them with sickly-sweet niceness, and watches her aggressors squirm as they get caught in it!
